Coral Gables operates under a commission/manager form of government and is well known for its active and involved citizenry. The Golf Course and Park Superintendent will perform a variety of administrative, supervisory, and technical tasks in the maintenance and operation of golf courses, grounds, parks, open spaces, and recreation structures The ideal candidate must be able to think strategically and exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment. The ideal candidate must be a strong manager and leader, collaborative, team player and change agent with the ability to inspire exceptional performance from employees.
Qualifications: Candidates interested in applying must have a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Turf Science/Management or a related field. Preferred certification as a Golf Course Superintendent by the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America, or a Class A Superintendent, as defined by the South Florida Golf Course Superintendents Association. Must have Florida Pesticide License or ability to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment. Significant experience managing golf course and/or park facility maintenance operations. Valid Florida Driver’s License.
Salary and benefits package includes: The annual salary range is $65,977.60 to $90,625.60. Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications. Medical, dental and life insurance, leave allowances, retirement plan and more.
